ABout ELijah Hudson
Elijah Hudson is a trumpet player and Music Education major at Boise State University, where he studies with Dr. Zach Buie. He is an active performer in several university ensembles, including the Symphonic Winds, Blue Thunder Marching Band, and Pep Band. In addition to his work at Boise State, Elijah serves as principal cornet in the Youth Brass Band of the Treasure Valley, where he continues to develop his musicianship in a collaborative setting.
Elijah has been recognized for his performance achievements, including selection to the IMEA All-State Band. He has also earned multiple awards at the IMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival, with highlights including a first-place finish in brass sextet, third place in vocal quartet, and multiple top-five placements for trumpet solo. He has participated in masterclasses with Dr. Megan Bailey and previously studied trumpet with Randy Bauer, experiences that have helped shape his approach to both performance and teaching.
In addition to performing, Elijah has taken on leadership roles such as section leader and drum major, where he gained experience leading rehearsals, working with small ensembles, and supporting other musicians in their development. These experiences, along with his work in community programs, have strengthened his interest in teaching and mentorship.
As an aspiring music educator, Elijah is focused on continuing to grow as both a musician and a teacher. He is especially interested in building strong, supportive classroom environments and helping students develop confidence and enjoyment through music.
